Course - Working with Bereaved Children 

Note

Applicants who have already completed the three day core course are exempt from days one and two unless desiring to repeat these days free of charge.

Course Aims

  • To prepare care giving adults to help children understand death as a part of life.
  • To help care giving adults increase their skills in facilitating age appropriate expressions of grief in children who have someone close to them die.
  • To increase the confidence of course participants in extrapolating from bereavement focused concepts and skills in order to facilitate children's grief resulting from other losses.

Course Duration

  • 6 days
  • 9.30am - 4.30pm each day

Course Fee
$1,633.50 (inc GST) includes DVD for pre-course viewing, 2 course books.
Light lunch provided each day. 

Registration And Cancellation

Application forms can be found on the Bereavement Care Website www.bereavementcare.com.au in the online shop.
Registration must be accompanied by deposit of $330.00 or payment in full. Registrations are on a first come basis (no phone applications). Cancellation and refund conditions are set out on the sheet attached to the application form. Credit card facilities available for Bankcard, MasterCard, Visa.

General Comments
Courses in Bereavement Counselling are best not undertaken by people who have experienced the death of someone close to them in the previous twelve months. The courses are skills focused and do not provide therapy.

All courses are from 9.30am to 4.30pm. It is important that participants attend all sessions so that group dynamics are not disrupted by absences.

Light lunch, morning and afternoon tea provided. Special diets not catered for.
